Jorge García-Márquez is an electronics engineer (1994) by Universidad Iberoamericana at León (Mexico). He holds a M. Sc. (1995) and Doctor in Sciences in optics (1998) by Universidad de Guanajuato (Mexico). He obtained his Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches diploma (HDR) in Electrical, Electronics and Photonics Engineering by Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin, France (2013). From 1999 to 2001 he was a research engineer at Institut National de Métrologie in Paris and from 2001 to 2012 he was a full researcher at Centro de Investigaciones en Optica in León, Mexico. In 2012 he moved to France where he works first as research engineer for Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin, then for the Laboratoire Commun de Métrologie LNE/CNAM; in January 2015 he become a senior engineer for the High-Tech’s Oledcomm SAS in topics related with visible light communications (VLC or LiFi) where he acts as deputy officer for R+D. His traditional and new research topics cover respectively interferometry, length measurements, optical super-resolution, spatial modulation of light, and visible light communications.
