I arrived in Munich on the 15th of July 2018. At that the same day, it was a world cup match was on and the city had an exciting atmosphere. I had a chance to see the match in the Munich’s city center of which I found it spectacular. The next day I started my work and I met my supervisors, managers and colleagues. They were very welcoming and friendly. I had a tour with my supervisor to get to know place and environment. It was pleasure to meet expert colleagues with wide range of skills.
The next day our group at OSRAM attended to the CSNDSP’s workshop in Budapest. In the workshop I had a chance to meet other partners and researchers of the Vislon project. During the first weeks in Munich I saw many attractions and sights of this green city.
During the first month, my focus on reading relevant work and literatures on the scope of optical wireless communication (OWC) and multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. As a first step, the beneficial usage of OWC in industrial scenario was the focus of survey. Moreover, I studied recent OWC MIMO systems in industrial scenario. In this step, reliability of communication system considered as one of the most crucial requirements for manufacturing. Based on literature reviews, OWC has a high potential to provide a reliable link in this area.
My next steps will be to narrow the research studies, look at distributed MIMO to meet the industry’s requirements and research novel approaches.
