Zahra Nazari, first steps at Czech Technical University, Prague – Spring 2018
I arrived in Prague in November 2017. During initial days I realized that native people are very kind and helpful. Although their native langue is Czech, the majority of them can speak English. I settle down quickly thanks to my supervisor Prof, Stanislav Zvanovec and all my colleagues in the department who are very friendly. I believe that Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is a tourist destination because of several wonderful bridges and a wide variety of historical monuments.
I started my work on first of December 2017 at Czech Technical University in Prague, as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie ESR (ITN-ETN) on “Visible Light Communications based Internet of Things” @VisionITN #MSCA #H2020. During the first period of my PhD the research focused on VLC systems and I submitted my first report regarding reading and carrying out comprehensive literature review worked on OWC and a particular focus on VLC and OLED on 20 December and then I continue to research.
The second report was submitted on 10th January regarding to investigate pros and cons of previous works carried out and their methodologies and archives, and also the outdoor applications of OVLC.
I keep on research about OLEDs and OVLC applications. My proposal was submitted on 5th February. And then I was expected to write papers for two conferences (WACOWC and CSNDSP). Fortunately, the WACOWC paper has been accepted.
I was preparing a paper for CSNDSP conference and it was submited on 14th March. Moreover, I am taking some courses in parallel to the knowledge in field of optical communication including “Fiber Optics” and “Technology of Optical Devices”. Additionally, I presented my schedule and what I have read regarding my project in the regular seminars of CTU department of electromagnetic field which is held every week.
